Bird Watching & Photography Tour - Bach Ma National Park (2 Days)

Exploring endangered, endemic, and restricted-range bird species at the birding hotspot in Central Vietnam - Bach Ma National Park - recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2022 and holds the world’s only breeding area for the saola, a critically endangered species (also known as the Asian unicorn). The park reveals a rich avifauna similar to that of Da Lat and Kon Tum highlands, which are recently recognized as some of the most significant biodiversity hotspots in Central Vietnam. 🐦📸

Services: The tour includes a private car, accommodations, insurance, tickets for entering the National Park, a ranger for night birding, and a guide.

Equipment: The tour also includes binoculars or telescopes (if required).

Weather: Due to the change in the elevation range from the headquarters (200 meters) to the top of the mountain (~1.500m) within the national park, the temperatures vary between 18°C-30°C accordingly. Bach Ma is one of the wettest weather in Vietnam (around 8,000 mm of precipitation at the summit, from  September and November). We may encounter heavy froggy and colder temperatures near or on the top of the mountain.

Topography: Bach Ma National Park - situated in the central Annamite mountains - lies on a high mountain ridge that runs west-east from the Laotian border to the East Sea at the Hai Van pass. Elevation ranges 200-1500 m (Mount Bach Ma at 1,448 m). Walking along roads and trails for birding easily but sometimes steeper with higher slopes and hills.

Local culture: French villas, hotels, and restaurants built during the French colonial administration. Indigenous people Ka Tu, Van Kieu, and Muong are living in the buffer zone of the National Park.
