Our project focuses on building a network of collaborators knowledgeable about wild birds throughout Vietnam for communication, education, warning, information collection and rescue purposes.
Vietnam is one of nine migratory bird flight routes. Every year, a large number of migratory birds stop to rest in the Central region, creating diversity and a peaceful village picture. However, on that migration path, birds encounter many injuries due to reduced foraging areas, depleted food sources, the existence of hunting, catching, trapping, and shooting, and awareness and tricks. of bird hunters is increasing, so many bird species are injured and their numbers are decreasing. Faced with that situation, the Central Vietnam wild bird photography group coordinated with conservation organizations, specialized agencies, and experts in the fields of ecology, biology, and zoology to join hands to protect protect and rescue migratory birds and invite you to join the VOLUNTEER network.
The network operates with 2 criteria:
- First is the sense of responsibility
- Second is to comply with legal regulations, have skills, expertise and be an ambassador in each area of responsibility.
The network will organize training and support for volunteers with basic knowledge and information as follows:
- Guide and share legal regulations in the field of biodiversity and conservation
- Instructions on how to identify and classify birds, especially migratory waterbirds and birds in the red book that need to be protected.
- Instructions on how to install and use migratory bird monitoring software (Software built by network experts, serving migratory bird monitoring in the Central region of Vietnam)
- Instructions on first aid and treatment methods for injured birds.
- Instructions on group work methods, bird research methods, and scientific research methods (if needed).
- Instructions on how to use camera traps in investigating, monitoring and evaluating biodiversity.
- Instructions on how to use AI in classifying bird species...
In particular, the network will maintain exchanges, sharing, summary reports and exchanges with experts/photographers in the field of conservation and wild birds.
Each province/city on our side needs 10-15 volunteers. We hope that with this message, friends and colleagues will share it so that the information can reach those who share the same direction as our team.
